They say Chicago is the windy city, but when I was there it wasn't windy at all. I recently visited Chicago and by recently-meaning like last week. I have never been here before and I've always aspired to visit. (Also, my co-worker Rebekah who lived there for 20 years encouraged me to). Plus, I didn't know there was a beach! I have always been intrigued by THE bean, or the kidney bean. The chrome sculpture in Millenium Park. As usual, there were a lot of people there taking selfies and photos and hey I did too. During this time, the Copa America Final was being held and the people are all screaming their hearts and voice boxes out. It was Miranda Kerr-azy! They are probably screaming at Lionel Messi? :) Oh yeah, I also visited the Shedd Aquarium. My sister and I walked from our hotel at the Essex Inn. Wrong decision. It was a far walk and it was hot and humid. We needed to relieve our sunburn afterwards. Thank you Aloe vera-wang! So walking around Chicago is easy breezy, but really thanks to the map on my phone. We explored and entered local and tiny shops and stores. We even visited Columbia College and started talking to admissions people and students about how we are loving Chicago. Reflecting back, what were we thinking? My sister and I are hilarious when we are together. I love to cartwheel. I guess it's the only thing I could do. I was going to do a handstand but I got shy and I have to brush up on it first, so a cartwheel is the next best thing. I have a cartwheeling photo when I was in Lisbon earlier this year and it's my favorite photo. Don't get me started with Happy Feet. My obsession with penguins skyrocketed after seeing this cute one literally shaking his/her bum bum for a couple of minutes! The cutest thing ever. The other people behind me were "awwwing" and "ooohing". I recommend visiting the Shedd Aquarium. This was taken on Superior Street just off of Magnificent Mile. We ate at Gino's East and had a deep dish. It was unbelievable and the mozzarella cheese sticks were addicting. We had to control ourselves. I had to take a picture of this. The parking spaces in downtown Chicago have these interesting artworks. I wonder who the artist was so I googled "moose bubblegum chicago" and the artist is Jacob Watts and this art is located on 33 E. Congress, Chicago, Il 60605 (South Wall). Inside Gino's East's graffiti walls and seats. We had to ask the server for this special marker and I wrote my name to remind myself that I paid a visit to this place. Overall, Chicago is exactly like New York City but smaller. If I had to move somewhere, I would consider Chicago over NYC.

I live in Illinois too and I stumbled upon your blog. Did you get to do the architectural boat tour?
