HELLO SUNNY MIAMI

Hi friends.  Back in April, I went to Miami, Florida.  The amount of Miami photos, content and stories that I've been hearing from friends, neighbors, strangers  made me want to visit as well.  I think for the past two years, I've been dreaming about Miami but never got the chance to visit-until now.  I wanted to go to Miami Beach specifically.  I heard the beach is fantastic and the eye-watering blue and bright sun is just a vibe.  To be honest though, when I hear Miami, I imagine a jet-setting energy.  For more photos, click the link below to read more.

If LA is all about Hollywood Hills and the mountains, Miami is all about the Cuban food and the beach.

DESTINED TO BE DISCOVERED

This picture was taken at Jaya at the Setai. Originally, I wanted to try out their breakfast menu. I even had a reservation. But, I miscalculated the scheduling. One and half days in Miami is not enough.  I had to cancel the breakfast reservation. But, I still wanted to try Jaya.  So, I made another reservation for dinner time and the people were so nice and was able to squeeze us in.   Jaya will always be my Miami discovery.

BRING THE INSIDE OUT

I remembered the feeling of being in a tropical place.  There's something about the beach and hearing waves splashing. Never-ending buzzing sounds of boats in the distance.  The morning seagulls' sounds vibrate through the sands. It's a wonderful, jubilant feeling.

GO FOR BOLD
One thing I noticed about Miami, is that it's very colorful. A lot of pink and green and turquoise blue. Everyone knows what I feel about turquoise-it's a really easy color to the eyes. But yeah, Miami loves bold colors!
IN HINDSIGHT
I wish I wore more colorful clothes in Miami. My usual color palette when I travel are monochrome colors. Shades of gray, blacks, navy and whites. Neutral colors are my thing. Next time...

MIAMI IS A VIBE. IT'S A FEELING I CANNOT DESCRIBE. MIAMI IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL.

REHYDRATION IS THE KEY
April in Miami was already hot, hot and hot.  But, I was not surprised. In fact, I expected it.  So, I brought my Stanley water jug with me wherever I went and I tell you, it saved me from dehydration.  I had enough energy during the day because of drinking so much fluids.
Tip: Coconut water is full of electrolytes and a great drink for a sunny beach day!

WANDERING IS WONDERFUL

I took this photo at 6:30 am.  I went for  a run around the neighborhood and I stumbled upon this park. This installation is at Collins Park.  This behemoth of a sculpture is by Ugo Rondinone and I love it. It reminded me of the Flintstones for some reason.

BREAK AND UNWIND

Traveling is such a great form of relaxation. The only downside is that It's stressful sometimes and it involves money.  I wish traveling was more affordable.  Physical health and mental health is important.  So as much as possible take a break (it doesn't have to involve traveling). Going to the park is a cool recreation and could help lower stress and recalibrate emotional health.

FOOD EXPLORATION WOW

Back home, I seldom go out to eat at fancy restaurants. However, when I'm traveling, I immediately absorb this energy of wanting to eat at cute and/or delectable places.  For me, I narrowed it down to Baire's and Jaya at the Setai.   I read the reviews and I am a huge fan of seafood, so if you are not a fan of seafood-there are many types of restaurants in Miami that will tickle your fancy.

PREPARATION IS KEY

Moving forward when I go to the beach, I will make sure I bring extra few items:   Gum, extra battery pack, extra spf, face mist and body sprays.

Beach outfit OOTD: I'm wearing Lululemon shorts, Yeezy slides and Sporty.& Rich cap and Prada sunnies

FOCUS ON THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Remember to wear sunglasses at the beach. I went to the beach early in the morning, to avoid the sweltering sun and to avoid any sunburns.  However, Miami sun is strong and sunglasses are required at 9am! yes 9 am!

Miami was such a wonderful experience. I know it's been over two months ago but I am still daydreaming about it.  My goal is to go back to Miami before the end of the year but that's wishful thinking.   I hope you liked this blog post. I am trying something different with my page outlines.  What is your favorite city to visit?
